Meet Dan Cotter
Dan Cotter assists individuals and families who have suffered harms and losses. Dan’s office is in Decatur, GA, but he is licensed to practice in five states (GA, FL, VA, MD, and D.C.) and from time to time will collaborate with other attorneys in those states to assist in the investigation and prosecution of civil cases.
A native of Northern Virginia, Dan graduated from Boston College in 1981. After graduating from B.C., Dan served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps from 1981 through 1982, teaching and working with children in underserved neighborhoods in Washington D.C. Following that, Dan enrolled in George Mason University School of Law graduating in 1985. He currently resides in Decatur, Georgia, where he has been active in church, school, and youth sports activities.
A member of the Bars of Florida (since 2007), Georgia (since 2000), Maryland (since 1991), the District of Columbia (since 1987), and Virginia (since 1985), Dan is licensed to practice law in each of those jurisdictions. He is a member of various Federal Courts in those jurisdictions as well.
Today, Dan’s practice focuses primarily on representation of victims of serious injury, wrongful death, nursing home abuse and neglect, medical malpractice, and the representation of the developmentally disabled. He also assists Georgia residents with basic Wills & Estate matters.
